The moon is lost tonight
In a flood of ambulance lights
I look with uneven eyes
Bewildered heart and mind

Our speech and language and imagery
Has some kind of invisible energy

A sunfish shimmering scales
The rain has filled to the brim
My cup runneth over with sin

Willows dead on the vine

Bridesmaids on a pretty footpath

Peacock tracking through mud
Or a hedgehog covered in blood
All of the worlds been hypnotized
Turn signal and we have arrived

No more, not even a peep
This vow of silence will take
An army of angels to break

He speaks through license plates
white and off white colorless flames
He swims but never gets wet
And he smokes those rusty thin cigarettes
